We are energetic beings. We feel vibrations. When we have a desire and experience that full bodied feeling of “Oh yes, I want XYZ” or “Mmmmhhhhmmmm, it would be so nice to feel QRT,” it’s because our desire is in our aura.

You do not have to go after it because it has already been brought to you.

That’s why you feeel it.

It’s why you desire it.

Excitement rushes through your body, feeling so good, so yummy and delicious …. until your mind takes over trying to figure out how you can get it.

Here’s the caveat: There is nothing to get. It’s already done.

Our only “job” is to let it in.

Right now, you’re saying, if this is true, why don’t I have it?

Because no one teaches us how to allow something in, most of us have only been taught how to get it or make it happen. Not only is this inefficient, but it also feels hard.

Allowing things to come to us is easier, requires less effort, and is our natural way of receivership. It is so innate in us that we resist anything that feels hard.

Because it feels so icky trying to get it, we stop. Then, we label ourselves procrastinators, lacking self-control or willpower, unmotivated and lazy, and making many other untrue statements.

See, our brain operates in a very distinct manner. It loves repetition. We do something once – and our brain is sold. (This is actually a good thing. Imagine having to relearn how to walk every time you stood up?)

Having both a bachelor’s and a master’s in psychology taught me that our brain is designed to remember and recall information quickly; to do this, they organize and categorize every experience we have ever had.

Think about a time when you were driving while listening to your favorite song and arrived at your destination before the song was over, but the song remained playing in your mind for the rest of the afternoon.

Your brain was telling you, “This song hasn’t ended. It doesn’t end here; there’s more. It ends after these words have played.” And the song continuously plays in your mind. Hours later, it’s still looking for the rest of the song. Our brain likes repletion. It loves to repeat things.

Now apply this concept to your relationship / career / finances / body etc. Your brain already knows how things have played out in the past, so it repeats the cycle for you. From the brain’s perspective, it’s helping you. (Not so much, right?)
