When I began my spiritual journey, I didn’t have a lot of people to turn to for guidance on the subject. Other than what I had experienced on my own, I knew very little about the dynamics of spirituality. Feeling excited, nervous, and somewhat impatient to know more about the afterlife and what others had experienced, I went on an information search. I wanted to understand as much as I could about the spiritual realm, so from 2006-2007, I read about sixty books on spirituality. Some were great, others not so much.
Today I’m sharing some of my favorites. Each of them resonated with me deeply, changing my life in one way or another. These books are great for anyone looking to supercharge their summer as well as enhance their spiritual experience. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have!
Here are my 5 favorite books on spirituality.
The Laws of Spirit
by Dan Millman
This book is so special to me. It was a powerful reminder of the true vulnerability of humanity when I really needed it. The Laws of Spirit shares simple yet impactful concepts of life. This book helped me with the process of surrendering.
The Seat of the Soul
by Gary Zukav
The first time I read this book was probably thirteen years ago and although it made a great impression, it wasn’t until I read it a second time (after my son passed) that it had a profound impact on my life. The Seat of the Soul helped me find my way through the darkness. I walked away from this book having a new set of eyes on life. (While I was writing this, I took out my book to flip through it. I had dog-eared page 42 in the chapter titled Karma. It speaks about a child’s passing.)
You’ll See it When You Believe It
by Wayne Dyer
Reading You’ll See it When You Believe It helped me with exactly that…trusting that when I believe deep within my heart that anything is possible, it always is.
Many Lives, Many Masters
by Dr. Brian Weiss
During the time I was reading Many Lives, Many Masters, I experienced more synchronicities than I ever imagined possible. I felt as though someone was literally listening to my thoughts. I remember telling a friend how I wanted to get certified in hypnosis. Two days later, a different friend (with no connection to the first) shared with me that; a hypnotherapist that she knew (whom I’ve never met) had openings in her class if I knew anyone that might be interested. I registered immediately!
This book helped me understand just how connected we really are. I was able to receive a better understanding of past lives, which inadvertently helped me understand how we choose this life. Many Lives, Many Masters lead me to wanting to know more about what we do while we’re in between lifetimes. This is when Journey of Souls by Dr. Michael Newton literally fell in my lap.
Journey of Souls
by Dr Michael Newton
I couldn’t put this book down! Dr. Michael Newton shares insight on a physical passing, the levels of souls, spirit guides and so much more. Journey of Souls not only answered many of my questions, it made perfect sense based off of my experiences. This book was the missing piece to my puzzle.
